The Excellence in Leadership Academy held their grand opening on August 14, 2012 at 6 pm. The academy is located at 915 West Expressway 83 in Mission, Texas. The event included a ribbon cutting by the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce and a program recognitions and a musical number by the students of the new school.
The Excellence in Leadership Academy is a new charter school created by Dr. Jose G. Reyes to "provide a quality educational environment that inspires each student to develop LEADERSHIP skills with a spirit of EXCELLENCE."
Dr. Reyes most notably mentioned that when you have the same people running over and over again for office, it signifies that there is an absence of leadership among the people.
The academy's Board of Directors includes:
